CWA Local 1014 representatives in the City of Camden organized their first "Holiday Luncheon" funded by the contractual Health and Welfare contribution from the City.

Each December, Local 1014 selects one of its members as its “Member of the Year”.

CWA President Chris Shelton kicked off the conference with a rousing speech, stressing that "these are movement times, times when the fight for fundamental change in our system is on, and all of us must join." He commended CWA members for their victory at Verizon: "They showed the entire labor movement and all of America that when workers stick together and fight, 'there is no greater power anywhere beneath the sun!'" He also spoke about the presidential race and labor's fight against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Verizon workers along the East Coast overwhelmingly voted to ratify new contracts that were negotiated following a historic 45-day strike by nearly 40,000 workers.

Voting separately, CWA members in the New York-New England region (CWA District 1) and the mid-Atlantic (CWA District 2-13) and in New Jersey overwhelmingly ratified four-year contracts.

Workers represented by IBEW Locals 827 (mid-Atlantic) and 2213, New York, and T6 in New England also overwhelmingly ratified the contracts.
