Pine Hill Workers Ratify Four-Year Agreement

Local 1014 represented workers in Pine Hill Borough ratified a new four-year contract on March 6, which included raises of $0.60 per hour in each of the years. The negotiations proved difficult because of the determination of the Borough to reduce the number of holidays. A state appointed mediator met with both sides on March 2 with the result being an agreement that included the elimination of two holidays (Easter Monday and Election Day) in exchange for pay increases that average roughly 3% per year or 12% over the life of the contract.

The ratified agreement must be approved by Borough Council before the contract signing can take place.
