CWA Rallies in Camden in Support of Local 1014 and 1084 Negotiating Teams

In a May 10 morning break-time rally with the theme "Camden Workers Rising", members of CWA Local 1014 and 1084 joined together in support of their negotiating teams. The Local 1084 contract with the Camden County Board of Social Services and the Local 1014 contracts with the City of Camden expired on 12/31/17. The rally, held outside City Hall and the Board of Social Services offices in downtown Camden, brought workers from the City and County together. Together they chanted "Who Are We?, Workers Rising".

Retiring Vice President Leah Hicks Honored at Annual Trustee Board Dinner

CWA Local 1014 President Karl Walko spoke about his feelings for retiring Vice President Leah Hicks at the annual Local 1014 Board of Trustees Dinner:

CWA Participation in Moral Wednesdays Vigils Helps Save Obamacare

Evesham Township (2/7/17) - CWA members and health care advocates stood up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or "Obamacare" by taking the fight to save health care to the district offices of Republican Congress members across New Jersey. Each Wednesday throughout February and March, CWA along with partner organizations in the NJ for Health Care coalition coordinated vigils outside the district offices of New Jersey’s five Republican Congressmen to generate grassroots pressure on them to oppose the repeal of the ACA without replacement.

CWA Statement on Failure of Senate to Pass Pension Funding Resolution for 2016 Ballot

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On Thursday morning, Senator Sweeney held a press conference in which he said that he would not post the Constitutional Amendment for a final vote in the Senate, the last step necessary to place the question on the ballot in November. His stated reason was that he is one or two votes short of a veto-proof majority on a bill to fund the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF).
